  • Lea Rose Markham, co-chair of the Medical Practice Issues Committee, has been selected to participate in the next cohort of ASHA’s Leadership Development Program (LDP).  This program is year-long program for ASHA members with leadership potential. The program encourages you to develop your leadership skills and give back to the professions through volunteering—whether with ASHA, at your workplace or for a related professional organization.
  • Numerous ISHA members, Tena McNamara, Bob Augustine, Tom Parton, Amanda Szymanski, and Treasyri Williams-Wood, participated in ASHA Hill Day in Washington, D.C., in which they met with legislators to advocate for issues affecting ASHA members and the clients they served. 
  • ISHA member, Judith Ball, has recently been awarded her 19th Award for Continuing Education (ACE) from ASHA.  Ms. Ball is a Clinical Associate Professor at Midwestern University.  Speech-language pathologists and audiologists may meet the requirements of the ACE by earning seven ASHA Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in a thirty-six month period.  Ms. Ball joins a select group of individuals who have made a concerted, personal effort to continue professional learning beyond an academic degree.  ISHA congratulates Ms. Ball on this achievement.
  • Midwestern University-Downers Grove NSSHLA Chapter was recently awarded its ninth Gold Status NSSHLA Chapter status.  Judith Ball, the NSSHLA Chapter advisor, commented that she is very proud all of the hard work the students have done to achieve this status. 
  • Rush University's NSSHLA Chapter was recently awarded Bronze NSSHLA Chapter status.
