Early Intervention General Revenue Fund Appropriation Rate Increase

On April 21, 2022, ISHA signed onto a letter with numerous other organizations and associations that was sent to Division of Early Childhood at the Illinois Department of Human Services.  This letter discussed the need for early care and education system that provides young children and their families with high-quality educational and child development services and supports beginning prenatally.  

This letter also urged IDHS to increase provider reimbursement rates for all Early Intervention services by 5% in fiscal year 2023.  Additionally, it urged an increase in compensation to all service coordinators employed by Child and Family Connections offices (CFCs) by 5% in fiscal year 2023.

Updated information: In June 2022, the Early Intervention Coalition was notified that Governor Pritzker announced a 3% cost-of-living-adjustment (COLA) for all 16 EI core services. While this is not the 5% rate increase that was sought, the administration is taking action.
