Amy Burke, M.S. CCC/SLP is a Senior Instructor at Western Illinois University and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses. She also supervises clinical students in a variety of settings. She serves as the co-chair of ISHA’s Ethics Education Committee. Her professional interests include supervision, dysphagia, voice disorders, and speech sound disorders.
Christina (Tina) Panzl, CCC-SLP is a school-based speech-language pathologist practicing in the Glenview/Northbrook area. She is a member of ISHA's DEI committee and currently serves as the co-chair of the Ethics Education committee. Her professional interests include supervision and mentorship, ethics, childhood language and literacy and AAC.
Session length: One hour
Activity Description: This session covered commonly occurring ethics violations, reviewed reporting procedures, and presented hot topics in audiology and speech-language pathology. Attendees reviewed how to access the ASHA Code of Ethics and discussed current real-life scenarios to strengthen ethical decision-making.

Learning Objectives: After attending the presentation, participants will be able to
- Identify key components of the ASHA Code of Ethics and recognize common types of ethical violations relevant to audiology and speech-language pathology
- Describe the procedures for reporting suspected ethics violations and understand the potential outcomes of the reporting process
- Apply ethical decision-making strategies to real-world scenarios

All courses have been approved for ASHA CEUs. See each course description for the number of ASHA CEUs available. To report your ASHA CEUs or to receive confirmation of course completion, please complete the Participant Form for EACH course. This form can be found in the confirmation email you will receive upon program registration. The participant form will require completion of participant information, assessment of learning objectives and the course evaluation. You are required to attend the entire recorded course to obtain continuing education credit. Each participant form will be cross-checked with the viewing log to ensure participants viewed the entire course. Any individual who did not view the entire course will not receive credit and will be removed from the ASHA course report. ASHA CEUs will be reported at the end of each month.
