Laws Pertaining to Speech-Language Pathologists, Temporary Licensure, Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathology Assistants

“Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Practice Act” chapter 225 ILCS 110. This is the law that requires us to be licensed to practice in any setting in Illinois. It also specifies our scope of practice, and lists the penalties for people who practice without a license. Many Public Acts have been passed regarding SLPs, and the ones that effect our licensure are all compiled in this document. References like “(Source: P.A. 85-1391)” at the end of a section means that this part of the statute was determined by Public Act 1391 of the 85th General Assembly.
