SB 771 Signed By Governor
Good News!
ISHA is pleased to announce that Senate Bill 771 was signed by Governor Rauner Friday September 22nd. It is now Public Act 100-0530 of the 100th General Assembly, otherwise known as the Illinois Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Practice Act. It goes into effect January 1, 2018.
ISHA will now begin work with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation to write rules to specify more detail in some sections of the statute.
Of note are guidelines for remote practice (telepractice), performance of basic health screenings, neurophysiologic intraoperative monitoring for audiologists, and the inclusion of ethics content in continuing education hours.
