ASHA Certification

"The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is the professional, scientific and credentialing association for 145,000 members and affiliates who are audiologists, speech-language pathologists and speech, language and hearing scientists," (www.asha.org). The Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) is the nationally recognized credential granted by ASHA to audiologists and speech-language pathologists who have met the academic, clinical and professional requirements established by ASHA's Council For Clinical Certification in Audiology and Speech-language Pathology (CFCC). The Standards for Certification in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) may be found at http://www.asha.org/certification/slp_standards/, while the Standards for the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) may be found at http://www.asha.org/Certification/2012-Audiology-Certification-Standards/.
Speech-language pathologists and audiologists must fulfill continuing education requirements to maintain their certification.
