October 3, 2008 - The Center for Speech and Language Disorders will hold its 24th Annual Conference on Children with Language Disorders at the Elmhurst American Legion, Normandy Banquet Hall. 

Topic & speakers: “Creating Customized Interventions for Children with ASD” –  Phyllis Kupperman, M.A., CCC-SLP, Mary Moreno, M.S.,  CCC-SLP,  Rebecca Rogers, M.S., CCC-SLP,  Dr. Susan Nelson Owen & Michael Owen (mother & son team)  to present Customized Intervention Through a Lifespan. The conference offers 0.5 CEU credit & 5 contact hours for IL CPDU. Early bird deadline is on Sept. 19 at $159.00.  Regular fee of $189.00 after Sept. 19.  This presentation will provide a template for analyzing individuals’ abilities and identifying support. (S: Student first).  It will discuss how to figure out meaningful goals and objectives.  (W: Where do we want to go?)  Opportunities at home, in school and in the community for offering programs and strategies will be identified.  (O: Opportunities).  Tactics for intervention will be presented and it will be shown how strategies and tactics   can be combined in unique ways to meet the needs of a particular child at particular stages of development.
