Save Illinois Early Intervention!

February 27, 2015

In recent state budget development, Governor Bruce Rauner proposed cutting $23 million from the state’s Early Intervention budget.  Under his proposal, children with delays less than 50% would no longer be eligible to receive services through the EI program.

On February 26, 2015, ISHA was asked to partner with the state OT, PT, and DT groups to form a coalition tentatively called Save Illinois Early Intervention.  Phone conferences have been held and an action plan is quickly being developed including; talking points for individuals to assist them in speaking with their legislators, a letter to families, and  information for social media networks. These are combined efforts to inform the public of the ramifications of this proposed cut.

Please check the ISHA web site (www.ishail.org), Facebook and Twitter pages as well as your email (ISHA Members Only) for further information on how you can help to save early intervention services in Illinois.
